T. LANEY CONSTRUCTION Services

Terry Laney has witnessed Austin’s roads and skyline develop, watched corporate
relocation activity bring newcomers to the city and seen land and home values escalate.
It’s with great pride that he claims that he has been around constant construction activity
ever since he can remember.

The Laney family has been involved for three generations in Austin’s commercial contracting industry. Terry’s grandfather paved some of Austin’s first major thoroughfares, and his father worked on such projects as the IBM plant, Interstate-35’s upper deck addition and the Frank Erwin Center. Terry’s older brother supervised the construction of all seven Dell Computer buildings, the Omni Hotel in downtown Austin, the University of Texas Fine Arts Building and Republic Place, a 17-story building at 4th and Guadalupe in downtown Austin.

Terry’s own career began around 1980 in commercial contracting. He was engaged in everything from excavation, paving, structural concrete contracting, and septic design to commercial finish-out. He owned several commercial contracting companies.
